A delightful Chicken Parmesan Casserole that combines comfort and flavor, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 sleeve of Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Season the diced chicken with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet. Sauté until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Layer half of the marinara sauce in a prepared baking dish.
  5. Add the cooked chicken on top, followed by half of the mozzarella and half of the Parmesan cheese.
  6. Spoon the remaining marinara over the chicken.
  7. Sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top.
  8. Finish with the Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs to achieve a crispy topping.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the breadcrumbs are golden.
  10. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve with a sprinkle of fresh basil on top and pair with a side salad or garlic bread.
