A quick and delicious Chicken Parmesan recipe that’s perfect for busy weeknights, featuring crispy chicken breasts topped with marinara and melted mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place the chicken breasts between sheets of plastic wrap, and use a meat mallet to pound them to about ½ inch thick for even cooking.
  3. Season the chicken fillets generously with salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of garlic powder to enhance the flavor.
  4. Set up three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and another combining Italian breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Coat each chicken breast in the flour first, then dip it into the eggs, and finally, press it into the breadcrumb mixture until well coated.
  6. In an oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the coated chicken and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until they’re golden and crispy.
  7. Pour marinara sauce over each piece of chicken, then sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  8. Transfer the skillet to your preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
