A quick and easy recipe for crispy chicken Parmesan made in the air fryer, topped with marinara and melted mozzarella.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless (skinless) chicken breasts (about 8 ounces each)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 large eggs (lightly beaten)
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup marinara sauce
  • 6 tbsp reduced-fat mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. Set up a breading station. In the first bowl, combine flour with salt and pepper. In the second bowl, have the beaten eggs ready. In the third bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.
  4. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour mixture, making sure it’s fully coated.
  5. Dip the floured chicken into the egg wash, allowing any excess to drip off.
  6. Coat the chicken with the panko and Parmesan mixture. Press gently to ensure it sticks.
  7. Place the breaded chicken breasts in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  8. Air fry for about 6 minutes on each side or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  9. While the chicken cooks, warm the marinara sauce in a small pot.
  10. Once cooked, carefully remove the chicken from the air fryer. Top with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  11. Return to the air fryer and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  12. Serve immediately, accompanied by a side of pasta, vegetables, or your favorite dipping sauce.
