  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped apples (peeled and cored)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing fully before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt. Gradually mix this dry combination into your wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chopped apples and nuts (if using).
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving space for spreading.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the centers appear set.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
