A delightful fusion of savory and sweet, these Apple Pork Chops are perfect for weeknight dinners or impressing guests easily.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pork chops
  • 2 apples, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until it shimmers.
  2. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt, pepper, and cinnamon.
  3. Carefully add the pork chops to the hot skillet. Sear for about 4–5 minutes per side until nicely browned.
  4. Once browned, transfer the chops to a plate and tent them with foil to keep warm.
  5. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and apples. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 4–6 minutes until they soften.
  6. Pour in the apple juice and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, scraping up the browned bits from the skillet.
  7. Return the pork chops to the skillet, nestling them among the apples and onions. Cover the skillet and cook for another 10–15 minutes until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  8. Serve the warm chops, spooning the apple-onion pan sauce generously over each piece.

Notes

For a sweeter dish, add a tablespoon of brown sugar when cooking the onions and apples. Ensure apples are crisp for texture.
