A comforting and kid-approved dish featuring crunchy breadcrumbs, savory marinara, and melty cheese.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix everything well.
  3. Coat each chicken breast thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring it sticks effectively.
  4. Place the coated chicken breasts on a parchment-lined baking sheet and give them a light spray of olive oil.
  5. Bake for around 20 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked through.
  6. Remove the chicken from the oven and top each piece with marinara sauce.
  7. Generously sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce and return to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes until the cheese is gooey and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil and serve immediately.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat in the oven for the best texture.
