A comforting dish of golden, crispy chicken coated in seasoned breadcrumbs, layered with marinara sauce, and topped with mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Mix together the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Dredge each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to ensure the crumbs stick well.
  4. Arrange the coated chicken on a baking sheet and spray them with olive oil for an extra crispy texture.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  6. Remove the chicken from the oven, spoon marinara sauce generously over each breast, and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for another 5-7 minutes until the cheese is beautifully melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve hot with pasta, a crisp side salad, or your favorite vegetables.

Notes

To store leftovers, allow the chicken to cool completely, then place it in an airtight container. It will last in the refrigerator for about 3 to 4 days.
