A comforting baked chicken dish topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well.
  3. Coat each chicken breast thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring an even layer on both sides.
  4. Place the coated chicken on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Lightly spray each piece with olive oil spray.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven, and generously spoon marinara sauce over each piece.
  8. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese atop each chicken breast.
  9. Return the chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For extra crunch, consider adding a tablespoon of cornmeal to the breadcrumb mixture. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
