A classic, comforting dish featuring crispy chicken cutlets topped with marinara and gooey mozzarella, perfect for busy weeknights.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken cutlets
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix the breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese together in a shallow bowl.
  3. Crack the eggs into another bowl and beat them until smooth.
  4. Sprinkle salt and pepper on the chicken cutlets for flavor.
  5. Dip each cutlet into the beaten eggs, letting any excess egg drip off.
  6. Coat the cutlets well with the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring they are fully covered.
  7. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  8. Sear the breaded chicken cutlets for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  9. Transfer the browned cutlets to a baking dish.
  10. Layer each cutlet generously with marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

For an ultra-crispy finish, don’t skip the searing step! For mild spice, add red pepper flakes into the marinara sauce.
