A classic Italian-American favorite with crispy chicken, marinara sauce, and melted cheese, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix your coating: In a medium bowl, combine breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat the chicken: Dredge each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring they are well-coated. Arrange the coated chicken in a baking dish.
  4. Bake the chicken: Place in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and golden brown.
  5. Add the marinara and cheese: In the last 10 minutes of baking, spoon marinara sauce over each chicken breast and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
  6. Cook the spaghetti: Meanwhile, prepare the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
  7. Serve up: Place the chicken over the spaghetti, drizzle with extra marinara, and garnish with fresh basil, if desired.

Notes

For a crispy finish, broil the chicken for an additional minute or two after adding cheese. Utilize a meat thermometer to ensure chicken is cooked through at 165°F.
