A delightful fusion of flaky pastry and savory ham and smoked cheddar cheese, perfect for brunch or weeknight meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 mini croissants
  • 4 slices smoked cheddar cheese, halved
  • ¾ pound deli-cut ham
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large egg white
  • Poppy seeds, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Slice each croissant in half horizontally.
  3. Place a half slice of cheddar cheese on the bottom half of each croissant.
  4. Add a slice of ham on top of the cheese, then add another half slice of cheese.
  5. Close the croissants with their top halves to create sandwiches.
  6. Combine the softened butter, yellow mustard, honey, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
  7. Spread this mixture inside each croissant sandwich evenly.
  8. Arrange the sandwiches in the prepared baking dish.
  9. Whisk together the egg white with a splash of water in another small bowl. Brush the tops of the croissants with this egg wash and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the tops are golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and serve warm!
