A hearty breakfast casserole filled with savory pork sausage, cheddar cheese, and crispy hashbrowns.

  • 1 lb Pork sausage (browned and drained)
  • 30 oz Frozen shredded hashbrowns (thawed)
  • 2 cups Sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 8 Large eggs
  • 1.5 cups Whole milk or heavy cream
  • 1.5 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp Garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the pound of pork sausage over medium heat until browned and crumbled. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  3. Combine the thawed shredded hashbrowns, cooked sausage, and shredded sharp cheddar cheese in a large bowl. Mix well.
  4. Whisk together the eggs, whole milk (or cream), salt, black pepper, and garlic powder in another bowl until blended and creamy.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the hashbrowns and sausage. Gently stir until well-coated.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and bake for about 60 minutes, or until set and golden brown on top.
  7. Let the casserole cool for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Top slices with sour cream or fresh chives for added flavor. Pairs beautifully with fresh fruit or crispy bacon.
