A delicious twist on classic breakfast biscuits and sausage gravy served in a fun pizza format.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (16 oz) breakfast sausage
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk, divided
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (optional)
  • 1 pre-baked pizza crust (12-inch)
  • Cooking spray
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk (for eggs)
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • Crispy fried onions for topping

Instructions

  1. Brown the breakfast sausage in a large skillet over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it into smaller pieces. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Sprinkle the flour over the sausage and stir well to coat evenly.
  3. Gradually pour in the 2 cups of milk while stirring constantly until the gravy thickens, about 10 minutes. Add black pepper to taste.
  4. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Place the pre-baked pizza crust on a baking sheet. Optionally brush it with olive oil for added flavor.
  6. Spread half of the prepared sausage gravy over the crust.
  7. Whisk together the eggs and 1/4 cup milk in a separate bowl.
  8. Scramble the egg mixture in a skillet with cooking spray over medium-high heat until just set, about 5 minutes.
  9. Spread the scrambled eggs over the gravy on the pizza.
  10. Top with shredded Cheddar cheese.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese has melted.
  12. Sprinkle crispy fried onions on top, slice, serve warm, and enjoy!

Notes

For a vegetarian version, swap breakfast sausage for mushrooms or tempeh. Add spices or fresh herbs for extra flavor if desired.
