A comforting Chicken Parmesan recipe featuring juicy chicken, crispy coating, rich marinara, and bubbling cheese—perfect for any dinner occasion.

  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Slice each chicken breast in half lengthwise to create 4 thinner pieces.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, flour, salt, and black pepper in a shallow dish until smooth.
  4. Combine breadcrumbs, grated parmesan, and Italian seasoning in another dish.
  5. Dip each chicken piece into the egg wash, letting excess drip off.
  6. Coat the chicken in the breadcrumb mixture until fully covered.
  7. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  8. Cook the chicken for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Spread half of the marinara in a 9×13 baking dish, layering the chicken on top.
  10. Spoon the remaining marinara over the chicken and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  11. Bake uncovered for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the sauce is bubbling.

Notes

For a lighter version, use whole wheat breadcrumbs or almond flour. Serve with pasta or a salad for a complete meal.
