A delightful Chicken Parmesan recipe that combines tender chicken, crispy breadcrumbs, and gooey cheese in a rich marinara sauce.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  3. Coat each chicken breast lightly with olive oil, then dredge them in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring full coverage.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce at the bottom of a baking dish. Arrange the cooked chicken on top and add marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese over each piece.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

For extra crunch, double-dip the chicken in the egg before coating it with breadcrumbs. Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best flavor.
