A classic Italian comfort food featuring crispy fried chicken, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese.

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Flatten the chicken breasts so they cook evenly.
  3. Set up your breading station. Place flour on one plate, beaten egg in a bowl, and mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper on another plate.
  4. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, dip it in the egg, and coat it with the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  6. Transfer the fried chicken to a baking dish. Top each piece with marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to add fresh basil on top or serve over spaghetti.
