A comforting classic Italian dish featuring crispy chicken, marinara sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese.

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a shallow bowl.
  3. Dip each chicken breast into the beaten egg, ensuring it is completely coated.
  4. Roll it in the breadcrumb mixture until fully covered.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
  6. Fry the chicken breasts in the skillet until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  7. Transfer the fried chicken into a baking dish.
  8. Spoon marinara sauce over each piece and top generously with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Serve hot, paired with pasta or a fresh salad.

Notes

To achieve perfect results, avoid overcrowding the skillet when frying. Don’t skimp on marinara or mozzarella, and let the baked dish sit for a few minutes before serving.
