A classic Italian dish featuring golden-brown chicken breasts topped with marinara sauce and two types of cheese, served with pasta.

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Cooked pasta (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning in a shallow bowl.
  4. Dip each chicken breast into the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to coat thoroughly.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the chicken until golden brown on each side, about 5 minutes per side.
  6. Transfer the fried chicken to a baking dish.
  7. Spoon marinara sauce over each piece and top generously with shredded mozzarella.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the chicken is cooked through.
  9. Serve hot alongside cooked pasta.

Notes

For a twist, add sautéed spinach or mushrooms, or substitute eggplant for a vegetarian option.
