A classic Italian-American dish featuring tender, crispy chicken breasts smothered in marinara sauce and melted cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts generously on both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Prepare a breading station: on one plate, place the flour; in a bowl, beat the eggs; and on another plate, mix breadcrumbs with grated Parmesan cheese.
  4. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any extra to drip off, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry each chicken breast for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they’re beautifully golden brown.
  6. Once fried, place the chicken in a baking dish. Pour marinara sauce over each breast and sprinkle them with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Serve warm, and enjoy every bite!

Notes

For a different twist, substitute chicken with turkey or eggplant. Serve over spaghetti or with garlic bread and a side salad.
