A delightful blend of tender shredded chicken, rich marinara sauce, and gooey melted cheese in a comforting casserole.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup cooked pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the cooked shredded chicken, marinara sauce, and cooked pasta in a large mixing bowl. Add the dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix everything well.
  3. Spread half of the chicken mixture evenly across the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella and half of the Parmesan over the chicken mixture.
  5. Add the remaining chicken mixture on top, followed by the rest of the cheeses.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil before serving, if desired.

Notes

To ensure even cooking, shred chicken evenly. For a crispy topping, consider broiling the casserole for an additional minute after it’s baked.
