A comforting Chicken Parmesan recipe featuring crispy chicken, rich marinara, and melted cheese for a delightful family meal.

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. In a bowl, whisk the egg until it’s smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.
  5. Dip each chicken breast into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry each chicken breast for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they’re golden brown.
  7. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish. Pour marinara sauce over each piece and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and golden.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil if desired, and serve.
