A classic Italian-American comfort dish featuring crispy chicken, rich marinara sauce, and gooey cheese.

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1.5 cups marinara sauce
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pound the chicken breasts until they are of even thickness.
  2. Set up three bowls: one with seasoned flour, another with beaten eggs, and the last with breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan.
  3. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, dip in eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat olive oil over medium heat and cook each chicken piece for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish, top with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (375°F) for about 20 minutes until cheese is bubbly.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider using Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs or adding fresh herbs. Can substitute cheese for a non-dairy option.
