Delightful bite-sized pieces that combine classic cinnamon rolls with the texture of French toast, perfect for brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 thick slices of slightly stale white bread (about 1″/2.5cm thick)
  • 2 large eggs (or 3 small eggs)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 3 tbsp butter, separated
  • Maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Begin by cutting the bread into cubes after trimming off the crusts.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  3. In a shallow bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon to create your coating.
  4. Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and melt 1.5 tablespoons of butter.
  5. Toss half of the bread cubes in the egg mixture. Add them to the pan and cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Once golden, transfer the bread bites to the cinnamon-sugar mixture and toss to coat fully.
  7. Repeat with the remaining cubes, adding more butter to the pan as necessary.
  8. Serve immediately with warm maple syrup for dipping.
