A delightful combination of cinnamon rolls and French toast, these roll-ups are a fun twist perfect for brunch or breakfast.

  • 3 tbsp butter, softened
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (for filling)
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (for coating)
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Flatten bread by rolling or pressing it down until nice and flat.
  2. Mix the butter, light brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon until smooth.
  3. Spread the cinnamon mixture evenly over each slice of bread.
  4. Roll each slice into a tight log and set aside.
  5. Whisk together the eggs and milk to create the French toast batter.
  6. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium and add a tablespoon of butter.
  7. Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.
  8. Cook the roll-ups in the skillet for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
  9. Roll the warm cooked roll-ups in a mixture of granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  10. Serve immediately with powdered sugar or maple syrup.

Notes

Use stale bread for better absorption. Customize fillings to your liking.
