A comforting and delicious Classic Chicken Parmesan with crispy breaded chicken, rich marinara, and gooey mozzarella, perfect for family dinners or guests.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season both sides of the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Whisk the eggs in a shallow dish until well beaten. In another dish, mix the breadcrumbs with the grated Parmesan cheese.
  4. Dip each chicken breast into the egg mixture, ensuring full coverage. Then, transfer them to the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to coat well.
  5. Heat a generous amount of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Carefully add the breaded chicken breasts and fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Place the fried chicken breasts in a baking dish and generously pour marinara sauce over each piece. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and is bubbling.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

Double-dip the chicken for extra crunch. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
