A comforting and crispy Chicken Parmesan dish that’s perfect for family nights or impressing guests.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Generously season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. Dip each chicken breast into the beaten egg, ensuring it is fully coated.
  4. Roll the chicken in a mixture of breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese, making sure to cover every inch.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the breaded chicken for 3-4 minutes on each side until it’s golden brown.
  6. Once fried, place the chicken in a baking dish. Pour marinara sauce generously over each piece and layer with sliced mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. If desired, garnish with fresh basil before serving hot.

Notes

For extra crispiness, consider double-dipping the chicken in egg and breadcrumbs.
