Ingredients
Scale
2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and black pepper to taste
Fresh chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the chicken: Cut the chicken breasts in half horizontally to create thinner cutlets or pound them to an even thickness. Season both sides generously with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Sear the chicken: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Make the sauce: Lower the heat of the skillet, then add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Create the creamy mixture: Pour the heavy cream into the skillet, stirring to deglaze the pan. Sprinkle in the Parmesan cheese and let the sauce simmer until it thickens slightly.
Combine and heat: Return the chicken to the skillet, allowing it to simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes so the chicken can absorb some of the creamy goodness.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream or use dairy-free alternatives.
