A crispy yet tender oven-baked chicken dish that combines Parmesan cheese and Italian spices, making it a family favorite for weeknight dinners.

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or greasing it lightly.
  2. Whisk together the egg and milk in a shallow dish until combined and slightly frothy.
  3. Mix the grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoned breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, paprika, salt, and black pepper together in another shallow dish.
  4. Dip each chicken breast into the egg mixture, making sure to coat both sides completely, then press firmly into the breadcrumb mixture to create an even crust.
  5. Place the coated chicken on the prepared baking sheet and lightly spray the tops with cooking oil spray.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  7. Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For added flavor, serve with marinara sauce, a colorful salad, and garlic bread. Consider using different cheese or breadcrumb types based on your preference.
