A delightful slow-cooked Chicken Parmesan dish that combines Italian flavors with the convenience of a crockpot.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked pasta or bread for serving

Instructions

  1. Layer the chicken: Place the chicken breasts at the bottom of your crockpot.
  2. Season generously: Evenly sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the chicken.
  3. Add marinara: Pour the marinara sauce over the chicken, making sure it’s thoroughly coated.
  4. Set and Forget: Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for about 4 hours.
  5. Cheesy Finish: In the last 30 minutes, add the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  6. Melt away: Cover once again to allow the cheese to melt beautifully.
  7. Serve: Serve hot, either over your choice of cooked pasta or next to some crusty bread.

Notes

For a twist, consider using fresh basil instead of dried Italian seasoning or switch out the marinara for a spicy arrabbiata sauce.
