A family favorite that marries crispy chicken with savory marinara and gooey melted cheese, perfect for a cozy family dinner.

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine the breadcrumbs, grated parmesan, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper in a shallow dish.
  3. Dip each chicken breast into the beaten egg, making sure they’re fully coated.
  4. Press the chicken into the breadcrumb mixture until evenly coated.
  5. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken on both sides until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish. Top each breast generously with marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

For extra crunch, add panko breadcrumbs. Marinate the chicken in olive oil, garlic, and herbs for added flavor.
