A simple yet delicious dish combining crispy chicken, marinara sauce, and gooey cheese, perfect for any occasion.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Generously season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. In a shallow bowl, whisk the egg until well blended. In another bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.
  4. Dip each chicken breast in the egg, ensuring it’s well-coated, then roll in the breadcrumb mixture until evenly covered.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully add the chicken, frying for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Once browned, transfer the chicken to a baking dish. Top each breast with marinara sauce, followed by a generous layer of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. For a fresh touch, garnish with basil before serving hot.

Notes

Let the chicken sit after frying for a couple of minutes before topping it with sauce to maintain crispiness. Feel free to experiment with different herbs in the breadcrumb mix.
