A quick and satisfying Easy Chicken Parmesan recipe featuring tender chicken, marinara sauce, and melty mozzarella.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Generously season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Whisk the egg in one bowl. In another bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese together.
  4. Dip each chicken breast into the egg, then coat using the breadcrumb mixture, pressing firmly.
  5. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the breaded chicken for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish. Pour the marinara sauce over the top and add the slices of fresh mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese bubbles and chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot.

Notes

Serve over spaghetti or with garlic bread. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for 2 months.
