A quick and easy one-pan dish featuring juicy chicken breasts in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, pounded to even thickness
  • 12 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 34 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water or chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes
  • Chopped fresh parsley or green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry and pound them to about 1/2 inch thickness. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear the chicken: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, add oil, and place the chicken in the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes until golden brown, flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and sauce: Lower the heat to medium, push chicken to one side, and add minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds, then stir in honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and water or broth.
  4. Simmer: Spoon the sauce over the chicken and allow it to simmer for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Garnish and serve: Remove from heat, top the chicken with chopped parsley or green onions, and drizzle with the sauce.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add sriracha or toss in sliced bell peppers and broccoli while simmering. Use tamari or coconut aminos for a gluten-free option.
