A comforting and versatile dish filled with cheese, marinara, and your choice of delicious fillings, perfect for weeknight dinners or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni or any desired filling (e.g., vegetables, meats)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lightly dust a floured surface and roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle, about 12×10 inches.
  3. Spread marinara sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border along the long edges.
  4. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the sauce.
  5. Lay out pepperoni or your chosen fillings in a line down the center of the dough.
  6. Dust with Italian seasoning for that extra burst of flavor.
  7. Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough around the filling into a log shape.
  8. Press the seam to seal, and pinch the ends to prevent any fillings from escaping.
  9. Place the rolled Stromboli seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  10. Brush the top with olive oil and, if using, apply the beaten egg for a shiny finish.
  11. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the crust is golden and sounds hollow when tapped.
  12. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes, then slice and enjoy.

Notes

Pair with a side salad or garlic bread, and offer extra marinara or ranch dressing for dipping.
