A quick and delicious dish combining succulent chicken and tender broccoli in a rich garlic butter sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the chicken pieces generously with salt and black pepper.
  2. Cook the chicken for about 5-6 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  3. Using the same skillet, add 1/4 cup of water and the broccoli florets. Cover and steam for 2-3 minutes, or until bright green and crisp-tender. Discard any excess water.
  4. Lower the heat to medium-low, then melt the butter in the same pan. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Mix in the soy sauce, lemon juice, and optional red pepper flakes for a kick.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss it well to coat in the garlic butter sauce, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  7. Gently fold in the steamed broccoli, making sure it’s fully coated with the sauce.
  8. Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped parsley if using. Serve warm.
