A comforting Green Bean Casserole combining fresh green beans, creamy mushroom soup, and crispy fried onions, perfect for any meal.

  • 4 cups fresh green beans, trimmed and blanched
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup French fried onions, divided
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for sautéing mushrooms)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. If using mushrooms, heat butter in a pan over medium heat and sauté them until they are tender.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Gently fold in the blanched green beans and the sautéed mushrooms, ensuring everything is well coated.
  5. Pour the mixture evenly into a casserole dish.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
  7. Stir in half of the French fried onions, sprinkle the remaining onions on top, and return to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes, until the onions are golden brown.

Notes

To keep leftovers fresh, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat in oven or microwave.
