A lighter take on a family favorite, this Healthy Baked Chicken Parmesan features lean chicken breasts and two kinds of cheese for a satisfying meal.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine the breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  3. Coat each chicken breast thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure it adheres well.
  4. Place the coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and spray lightly with olive oil.
  5. Bake for 25–30 minutes until the chicken is golden brown and fully cooked through.
  6. Remove the chicken from the oven and spoon marinara sauce over each breast.
  7. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  8. Return the chicken to the oven for an additional 5–7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Serve warm alongside your favorite side dishes.

Notes

For an extra crisp finish, broil the chicken for 1-2 minutes after baking. Ensure your chicken is pounded to an even thickness for uniform cooking.
