Delightfully chewy homemade bagels that are easy to make and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (about 110°F)
  • Optional toppings: Everything seasoning, sesame seeds, poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water and yeast to activate them.
  2. Mix in sugar, salt, and flour to form a dough.
  3. Knead until smooth, and let it rise.
  4. Shape the bagels and allow them to rest.
  5. Boil and bake until golden brown.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or freeze for longer storage.
