A delightful balance of sweet and savory, this Honey Garlic Chicken is perfect for quick dinners or special gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Oil, for cooking

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a bit of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  3. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet, searing each side for about 4 to 5 minutes until they turn a beautiful golden brown.
  4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
  5. Lower the heat to medium and add the minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 20-30 seconds, just until fragrant—be careful not to burn it!
  6. Pour in the soy sauce and honey, and scrape the bottom of the skillet to release any flavorful bits.
  7. Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning some sauce over each piece. Allow it to simmer until the sauce thickens, about 6 to 8 minutes.
  8. Ensure the chicken is cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F).
  9. Let the chicken rest for 3 to 5 minutes before serving to lock in those juices!

Notes

Serve over rice or quinoa, and pair with steamed vegetables for a balanced meal.
