A perfect combination of sweet and savory, this quick and easy Honey-Garlic Chicken & Brussels Sprouts Skillet is ready in under 30 minutes and ideal for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound chicken breast (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 2 cups Brussels sprouts (halved)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (use low sodium if preferred)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (minced)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • Chopped green onions (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Start by washing and halving the Brussels sprouts. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces, and mince the garlic and ginger.
  2. Make the honey-garlic sauce: In a bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ginger. Set it aside for later.
  3. Sauté the Brussels sprouts: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the halved Brussels sprouts, seasoning with salt and pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the edges are golden and crispy. Once done, remove them from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Cook the chicken: In the same skillet, add the chicken pieces. Cook for 6-8 minutes, stirring frequently until fully cooked. Add additional salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Combine and simmer: Pour the honey-garlic sauce over the chicken, then return the Brussels sprouts to the skillet. Stir everything together and let it simmer for another 3-5 minutes until well-coated and heated thoroughly.
  6. Garnish and serve: Serve hot, topped with optional sesame seeds and chopped green onions for an added crunch and flavor burst.

Notes

Feel free to substitute Brussels sprouts with green beans or broccoli if desired. For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
