A simple and delicious Oven-Baked Chicken Parmesan that combines crispy chicken, rich marinara, and gooey mozzarella, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl until well mixed.
  3. Coat each chicken breast completely in the breadcrumb mixture, gently pressing the crumbs to adhere.
  4. Place the coated chicken on a baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes until fully cooked and the coating is crisp.
  5. Remove from the oven and top each breast with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  6. Return the chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese melts and is bubbly.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil, if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

For an extra crunch, consider using panko breadcrumbs. Make sure to watch the chicken to avoid overcooking.
