A delicious and easy Parmesan-Crusted Chicken recipe with a crispy exterior and juicy interior, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (halved lengthwise)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (panko or Italian-style)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or butter for extra flavor)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken: Start by pounding the chicken breasts to an even thickness.
  2. Set up the breading station: In a bowl, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. Keep a third bowl with flour ready for coating.
  3. Coat the chicken: Dredge each chicken piece in the flour, shake off the excess, dip it into the egg mixture, and finally press it into the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture until well-coated.
  4. Cook the chicken: Heat the olive oil (or butter) in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken for about 3–4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  5. Serve & enjoy: Let the chicken sit for a minute before serving with lemon wedges, a fresh salad, or your favorite pasta dish.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, swap breadcrumbs for gluten-free alternatives. Ensure even thickness in the chicken for consistent cooking.
