A warm and delightful breakfast crumble combining sweet pears and crisp apples with a crunchy topping.

Ingredients

  • 3 pears, peeled and diced
  • 3 apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose or gluten-free flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup melted coconut oil or butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, toss the diced pears and apples until they’re well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Add the melted coconut oil or butter into the dry mixture, stirring until it’s fully combined.
  5. Spread the fruit mixture evenly in a baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle the crumble topping generously over the fruit layer.
  7. If using, sprinkle the chopped nuts on top for an extra crunch.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the topping turns golden brown and the fruit starts bubbling up.
  9. Serve warm, perhaps topped with a dollop of yogurt or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For a nut-free version, swap nuts with seeds or leave them out entirely. Drizzle with honey or maple syrup for extra sweetness.
