A delightful homemade version of the classic breakfast sandwich, featuring a crispy sausage patty, a perfectly cooked egg, and a slice of cheddar cheese on a toasted English muffin.

Ingredients

  • 1 English muffin
  • 1 breakfast sausage patty
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 slice of cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter (for toasting)

Instructions

  1. Split the English muffin in half and toast it until golden brown.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage patty for about 3-4 minutes on each side until it’s fully cooked.
  3. Using the same skillet, crack an egg and cook it sunny-side up, or according to your preference. Season with salt and pepper as it cooks.
  4. On the bottom half of your toasted muffin, layer the cooked sausage patty, followed by the egg, and then a slice of cheddar cheese.
  5. Top with the muffin’s other half and serve immediately.

Notes

Enjoy hot, and feel free to add hot sauce or salsa. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2-3 days.
