  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup cooked sausage, crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together.
  3. Cut in the softened butter until it looks like coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the milk until everything is just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the crumbled sausage, shredded cheese, and chopped green onions.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently until smooth.
  7. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
  8. Cut it into squares or rectangles based on your size preference.
  9. Place the pieces on a baking sheet and brush with the beaten egg.
