Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups warm milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 packets (4 1/2 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 5 to 6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Warm the Milk: Heat the milk to about 100–110°F (38–43°C).
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, stir together the warm milk, melted butter, sugar, and salt. Sprinkle in the active dry yeast and wait about 5 minutes until the surface foams.
  3. Incorporate Eggs: Beat in the eggs until well combined.
  4. Form the Dough: Gradually add 5 cups of flour, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  5. Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, sprinkle small amounts of remaining flour as needed.
  6. First Rise: Lightly grease a bowl, place the dough inside, and cover with plastic wrap or a damp towel. Let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  7. Shape the Rolls: Gently punch down the dough. Divide it into equal pieces (12-16). Shape each piece into a smooth roll and place them on a greased baking sheet, leaving space in between.
  8. Second Rise: Cover the tray and allow the rolls to rise again until puffy, approximately 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Bake: Bake the rolls for 15–20 minutes until golden brown on top and sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  10. Finish Up: Remove from the oven and brush generously with melted butter. Serve warm!
