  • lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs or chicken breast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Cooked white rice
  • Sesame seeds
  • Chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and season them with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and brown it for about 5-7 minutes.
  3. While the chicken cooks, whisk together the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, water, and cornstarch in a bowl.
  4. Once the chicken is fully cooked, pour the honey garlic sauce over it in the skillet.
  5. Stir well to coat the chicken evenly and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  6. Let the sauce thicken for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add the sesame oil for a boost of flavor and remove the skillet from heat.
  8. Give it a moment to rest before serving it over warm cooked rice.
  9. Garnish your creation with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
