Delightful snack or dessert combining the warmth of cinnamon and the sweetness of apples in bite-sized pieces.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 apple, peeled and diced
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and granulated sugar until well combined.
  2. In another bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until frothy and well mixed.
  3. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined—be careful not to overmix!
  4. Gently fold in the diced apple, making sure it’s evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  5. In a deep pan, heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown and fluffy.
  7. Carefully remove the fritters and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. Dust generously with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve hot, dusted with powdered sugar. For extra indulgence, drizzle with caramel sauce or serve with ice cream.
