Juicy and tender blackened chicken featuring a bold spice mix that’s perfect for a quick dinner or special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Spice Mix: In a small bowl, combine the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Season the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel. Generously rub the spice mixture over both sides of each breast.
  3. Heat the Skillet: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Cook the Chicken: Add the chicken breasts to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until they’re well-browned and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  5. Rest and Serve: Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a couple of minutes before slicing.

Notes

Leftover blackened chicken can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. For the best results, use a meat thermometer to check for doneness.
