Juicy chicken koftas paired with a refreshing garlic yogurt sauce, perfect for family dinners or quick weeknight meals.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams ground chicken
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into small oval-shaped koftas, roughly the size of an egg.
  3. Preheat your grill and lightly brush it with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Grill the koftas for about 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally until nicely browned and fully cooked through.
  5. While grilling, prepare the garlic yogurt sauce by mixing yogurt, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt in a separate bowl.
  6. Serve the grilled koftas warm alongside the garlic yogurt sauce for dipping.

Notes

For added flavor, marinate the kofta mixture for a few hours or overnight. Avoid overworking the meat to prevent dry koftas.
